給付金

保険に加入している被保険者が入院したとき、手術をしたときなど契約上の支払い事由に該当する状態になったときに保険会社から支払われるお金のこと。障害給付金、災害入院給付金、疾病入院給付金、成人病入院給付金、手術給付金などがありますが、これらは通 常は「お見舞金」扱いとされ、非課税扱いになります。したがってこれらの給付金を受け取った場合も、確定申告の必要はありません。 一方、保険金というのは保険に加入している被保険者が死亡したり、高度障害状態になったとき、あるいは契約の満期まで生存したときに生命保険会社から支払われるお金のことです。保険契約に基づいて指定した受取人に支払われます。なお、通 常は保険金が支払われるとその保険契約は消滅します。
